Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in the year 1992, and started her studies in marine science at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard started her commercial fishing career in 1999, when she was hired on board the F/V Sunset. This 65' schooner, which was transformed into the role of a salmon tender is owned by Murat Aritan. He has been a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard who is married to Aritan she has joined alliance to gain access to their industries. They support conservative, profitable management of renewable seafood resources. In 2007, now a mother to two kids Bella age three and Andre 1 Bossard before returning to her home in Philadelphia, opened a direct market wholesale distributor of seafood known as Otolith. The name of the company is a loving reminder of her intimate understanding of fish biology and her husband's long connection to the industry of seafood, often keeping them from each other for 5 months or more when they are focused on their the environment and financial goals that show their independence as well as dedication to the community in which they call home. Bossard's daughters Isabella, age 12, and son Andre 10 return annually each year to Southeast Alaska to work in the position of deckhand in the wild salmon season.
